LeAnn Welch, DVM, Owner
Dr. LeAnn Welch is proud to call Hannibal, Missouri her lifelong home. A graduate of Hannibal High School’s Class of 2004, she went on to earn her undergraduate degree in Pre-Professional Zoology from Northwest Missouri State University. She fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian at the University of Missouri – College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2012.
After veterinary school, Dr. Welch began working alongside Dr. Tom Dorsey, the longtime owner of Hannibal Veterinary Clinic. In 2015, she officially took over the practice and has continued the tradition of providing compassionate, high-quality care to the pets and families of the Hannibal community.
Dr. Welch lives in Hannibal with her husband, Brandon, and their three children — Benjamin, Nicholas, and Charlotte — along with their three beloved dogs: Maya, Marshall, and Macey.
A special place in Dr. Welch’s heart will always belong to Boski, her sweet merle Chihuahua and “heart dog,” who passed away from cancer. His gentle spirit and unconditional love continue to inspire her dedication to the pets she cares for every day.
When she’s not in the clinic, Dr. Welch enjoys staying active and sharing her passion for fitness. She teaches Zumba Fitness classes at the Hannibal YMCA and loves playing pickleball, where her naturally competitive spirit often comes out on the court.
Rest in Peace, Sweet Boy
